Why Come To Counselling?

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be feeling anxious, low, stressed, or emotionally overwhelmed - or finding yourself stuck in patterns of thinking or behaviour that no longer feel helpful. Sometimes it’s not one big thing, just a sense that life feels harder than it should.

You might be navigating a life change such as a relationship ending, a career shift, retirement, or grief. These moments can leave you feeling lost, uncertain, or disconnected from yourself, even if outwardly everything seems “fine”.

Some people come with clear experiences they want to process, while others arrive with feelings that are harder to name - a sense of stuckness, unease, anxiety, or low mood that doesn’t seem to have an obvious cause. All of this is valid.

Whatever brings you, counselling offers a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can be listened to and supported. Speaking openly with a trained counsellor can be a grounding and empowering step towards finding a way forward that feels right for you.

Counselling isn’t only for times of crisis. It can also be a gentle, proactive way to deepen self-understanding, improve relationships, and support your overall wellbeing.
